I did the above painting of West Quoddy Lighthouse from a historical photograph. While I hadn’t visited the lighthouse at the time, I always wanted to paint the iconic candy striped lighthouse on the eastern most point of the United States.
In September of 2024 I visited the lighthouse in person on a very dark and misty day but wanted to return to get a better view from the water, which I did a few weeks later. I hope to have paintings based on those photos added to this site soon.
The above painting is 11×14 acrylic on panel.
